Objective:

Positive Psychology: the study of the emotions and interactions that allow our society to live, and not simply survive. Positive Psychology is an often neglected area of Psychology because of the difficulty in obtaining empirical research data.

Positive psychology is a relatively new and broad branch of psychology that concentrates on positive emotions and studies mental health beyond a lack of illness. Psychology is often more concerned by treating diseases such as depression and often ignore the state of well-being if there is no disease associated.

In Dr. Domjan's PSY 341K, Positive Psychology and The Good Life, she often comments on multiple methods of increasing one's happiness, and understanding human nature to a better extent. This organization is committed to looking at research that positive psychology advocates and applying it to the student body population.

"We believe that a psychology of positive human functioning will arise that achieves a scientific understanding
and effective interventions to build thriving in individuals, families, and communities. "
